Welcome! My name is Francisco Mendez. I am a Licensed Professional
Counselor—Associate (LPC-A) here at District Counseling. I am under
the supervision of Marcel Gamboa, MS, LPC-Supervisor. I completed
the Master of Science program in Clinical Mental Health Counseling at
the University of Houston—Clear Lake in 2022. I received my Bachelor
of Arts in Psychology from the University of St. Thomas in 2017. I have a
Mexican American background and am fluent in English and Spanish.

I decided I wanted to be a counselor because I want to be a resource for
others to help them improve their lives. My goal is to help empower you
to overcome those challenges that you are facing by providing support,
compassion, and helping you to foster those strengths that you possess
but may not yet see in yourself. Whether you are experiencing anxiety,
depression, relationship issues, having difficulty adjusting to a change in
your life, coping with trauma, or facing another issue in your life, I can
help you build the skills you need to take back control of your life.
I believe a good counselor is one that tailors their therapy to their client
(or clients, in Couples therapy). I am here to collaborate with you to find
what helps you the most by taking your unique traits, cultural
background, and personal and professional goals into consideration.
